He chooses to stir our hearts and draw us to Himself “according to His purpose.” That verse is a solid proof that each Christian’s life has a (high and holy) purpose, and we will never be fulfilled until we discover what it is and DO it to glorify God. The truly important things in our lives are not our careers or reaching goals or being the most that we can be, but loving and obeying God with all our heart, mind, and soul in whatever He gives our hands and minds to do. “According to His purpose” summarizes our whole life including all the disappointments, setbacks, delays, as well as the delights, provisions and enablement ́s. Why has it taken nearly a lifetime for me to understand this truth? Perhaps I couldn’t review God’s track record in my life. Now, I look back and see how every piece fits together. All the pieces make a beautiful picture of my life so rich in wonderful memories, friends, and most of all, the deep consciousness that He has never left my side . . .
